The French test circuit HOMBRE DE HIERRO will once again be the protagonist in 2026 with a calendar loaded with tests both medium and long distance.
From the French Riviera to the Atlantic and the Loire Valley, France is confirmed as one of the favorite destinations for triathletes from around the world.
News and changes in 2026
The grand premiere will be on IRONMAN Tours Métropole – Loire Valley, which after its debut as a 70.3 in 2025 makes the jump to the full distance June 14th, 2026.
The route maintains its unique signature: swimming in the Loire River, fast cycling through castles and countryside, and a spectacular finish inside the Parc des Expositions de Tours.
Another novelty comes from the Atlantic coast. Les Sables d'Olonne, which hosted a full IRONMAN in 2025, returns to its original format in 2026 IRONMAN 70.3, scheduled for July 5th.
Considered the flattest race in France, it has gained fame for its Vendée Globe channel swim and its perfect course for racing to beat the record. It's no wonder it's already sold out.

Iconic tests of the calendar
- Aix-en-Provence (May): the earliest appointment, with a demanding route through mountains and a Provençal atmosphere.
- Nice (June): The queen of the French calendar. Its route on the French Riviera makes it a legendary challenge, and in 2023 it hosted the Men's World Championship.
- Les Sables d'Olonne (July): the flattest middle distance in France, ideal for making your debut or aiming for a personal best.
- Vichy (August): the festival that closes the season with Full and 70.3 on the same weekend.
