Peñota Dental Alusigma and Cidade de Lugo Fluvial win in Banyoles and are crowned Spanish Club Champions.
The city of Banyoles once again dressed up to host a new edition of the 2025 Spanish Club Triathlon Championship, third day of the national leagues. The team women's team of the City of Lugo Fluvial and the male of Peñota Dental Alusigma were proclaimed champions in First Division, on a day marked by great individual performances and changing weather conditions.
Furthermore, Cecilia Santamaría (Cidade de Lugo) and Pao Millo (CEA Bétera) were awarded the Lottery jersey to the best partial swimming performance.
First Division: Peñota and Fluvial dominate
In the male category, Penota Dental Alusigma achieved a resounding victory with 1303 pointsclosely followed by Cidade de Lugo Fluvial (1147) and Imps from Rivas (1135). On an individual level, the victory went to Pelayo Gonzalez (53:07), ahead of his teammate Jordi García (53: 26) and of Andrew Hilary, from the Albacete Res Triathlon (53:38).
In women, Cidade de Lugo Fluvial sumo 1284 points, beating Imps from Rivas (1182) and Náutico de Narón (1180). The individual winner was Noelia Juan, from the CEA Bétera, with a time of 59:40, in front of Ana Carballo (1: 00: 39) and Sara Perez Living Room (1:00:43), both from the Fluvial.
Second Division: Deportivo Delikia scores a double
El CD Delikia took the titles in both categories of the Second Division. In women, the team achieved 1219 points, lead by Natalie Castro, Carla Larrabeiti y Lara Solsona, who dominated the individual podium.
In men, they added 1273 points, with Damian Suarez as the fastest (54:51), followed by Igor Bellido (Isbilya) and Pau González-Espresati (The 208th Elche Triathlon).
Third Division: Marlins and Resistentia stand out
Marlins Triathlon Madrid won the women's event with 1765 points, beating T3 resistance (1739) already Tenerife Reactivity (1612). The fastest was Marta Bernardi (CET Distance Z5), with 1:03:46.
In boys, Reactivité Physiotherapy In Side Logistics won with 1807 points, in front of Vicálvaro Triathlon (1763) and CET Distance Z5 (1749) Vicente Hernández took the first series (56:11) and Ander Michelena the second (57:20).
Sunday: Spanish Relay Couples Championship
This Sunday the 13th will be celebrated Spanish Triathlon Relay/Couples SuperSprint Championship, with three couples per club and explosive distances: 300m swim, 6,6km bike ride and 1,6km run. Departures are scheduled for 9:00 a.m. (male) y 11:00 a.m. (female).
The Triatló de Catalunya is suspended
The traditional Triathlon of Catalonia, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday afternoon, was cancelled due to Red alert (Level 6 of 6) due to the extreme risk of rain and flooding. The organization, in coordination with the authorities, chose to prioritize the safety of athletes, coaches, and volunteers.
