The marina of Águilas (Murcia) was dressed up this weekend to host the 2025 Spanish Sprint Triathlon ChampionshipWhere Maite Jiménez-Orta (Alusigma Dental Peñota) and David cantero (University of Alicante) were proclaimed champions in the elite and under-23 categories.
Under a radiant sun, the day brought together the best national triathletes, as well as including Paralympic events, age groups and the closing of the Talent League.
Women's Elite: Jiménez-Orta wins in a thrilling final sprint
The women's race provided one of the most exciting moments of the day. Maite Jiménez-Orta stopped the clock at 58:55 after a very close duel in the final stretch with Noelia Juan (CEA Bétera), which arrived just a second later.
Marta Pintanel completed the podium eight seconds behind, while Maria Casals y Ana Carballo (both from Cidade de Lugo Fluvial) were fourth and fifth respectively.
By teams, the Cidade de Lugo Fluvial took the victory, followed by CEA Bétera and Náutico de Narón. In the U23 classification, Jiménez-Orta also rose to the top, accompanied by Casals and Carballo.

Men's Elite: Cantero, unstoppable in the final stretch
In the male category, David cantero He gave no options and dominated with authority, crossing the finish line in 52:54.
The second place was for Pelayo Gonzalez (Peñota Dental Alusigma) 17 seconds behind, and third for his teammate Eloy Canales, who also took the Challenge 300. They completed the top-5 Izan Edo (University of Alicante) and Cesc Godoy (Saltoki Trikideak).
In the team classification, the title went to the University of Alicante, followed by Diablillos de Rivas and Peñota Dental Alusigma. As in the women's category, the top three men's overall finishers were also the top three U23 finishers.
Men's 10 Top
Spanish Championship of Paralympic Triathlon
Águilas was the scene of a Paralympic championship with more than 80 participants.
Among the winners were: Lionel Morales (PTS2), Dani Molina (PTS3), Nil Riudavets (PTS4), Maria Fuertes y Damian Sanchez (PTS5), alba romero y Alejandro Meneses (PTS7), in addition to Sonia Ramos y Héctor Catalá (PTVI). In the PTWC class they won Eva María Moral y Jose Cristobal Ramos.
Mixed Talents and Relays League
The last day of the Triathlon Talent League crowned the Delikia Sports as national champion in mixed talent relays, with a team made up of Lucía Ageitos, Marco Esteban, Marta Pereira-Borrajo and Luis Piña.
As for the League, the Náutico de Narón was proclaimed champion of the women's First Division, while in the men's category the title went to Cidade de Lugo Fluvial.
Upcoming competitions in Águilas
On Sunday 14th it will be the turn of the cadet, youth and junior categories, in addition to the Spanish Inclusive Triathlon Championship, which will put the finishing touch to an intense weekend of triathlon in the Region of Murcia.
