Banyoles will host the 2026 European Multisport Championship
Duathlon, cross triathlon, aquathlon and middle distance, in a unique environment
The city of Banyoles will once again be at the center of the European triathlon map. From July 11 to 19, 2026, this iconic Girona location will host the Multisport European Championship, an international event that will bring together elite athletes, paratriathletes, and age groups for a week packed with competitions.
The choice of Banyoles by European Triathlon, in collaboration with the Banyoles City Council and Spanish Triathlon Federation (FETRI), consolidates its reputation as the permanent capital of triathlon in Spain.
And no wonder: since 2011, the city has hosted multiple continental events, and since 2021 it has held the status of "preferred triathlon city."

Massive participation from both national and international athletes is expected, with limited spots in several categories.
A consolidated multi-sport legacy
Banyoles is not a makeshift venue. For more than a decade it has proven to be a success model in the organization of top-level tests.
FETRI has highlighted that Banyoles is currently the only permanent headquarters in the calendar national, thanks to the symbiosis between its natural environment, its institutional fabric and the local passion for sport.
Strategic impact and international projection
The celebration of this European Championship goes beyond the competitive aspect. It will have a direct impact on sports tourism and the local economy and the positioning of Banyoles as a continental benchmark in triathlon. It will also be an opportunity for elite athletes, age groups, and paratriathletes to coexist at the same event.
The organizers invite athletes, coaches, federations, and the general public to take part in this unique event, which will celebrate the best of European triathlon in one of the continent's most iconic venues.
