Challenge Barcelona 2025 debuts Half format
Barcelona will host a middle-distance triathlon in its city center for the first time.
The next 26th October 2025, the city of Barcelona will experience a historic moment with the arrival of the Challenge Barcelona in Half format, convirtiéndose en el first middle-distance triathlon disputed within the urban center of the Catalan capital.
The local organization, Wefeel Events, had been working for more than two years to make this format a reality, which will finally be possible thanks to the restructuring of the calendar municipal works.

Half Distance as the main novelty
Until now, Challenge Barcelona was held at Olympic distance, but this year the organization has decided to make the jump to the format Half (1.900m swimming, 90km cycling, 21km running), eliminating the Olympic distance. The event will also feature:
- Sprint Distance
- Aquathlon (750m swim + 5km run)
- Open Water (1.900 and 3.800 m)
- Junior Challenge in supersprint format
A circuit in the heart of the city
Challenge Barcelona 2025 offers routes designed to bring out the best of Barcelona:
- Swimming: a single lap of 1.900 meters on the beach of the Mar Bella.
- Cycling: two laps around the N-II, from Mar Bella to Mataró, with privileged views of the coast.
- Race on foot: three laps between the Mar Bella and the W Hotel (Sailing), with a lively layout and packed with people.

Registration opens on May 25, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. through the official website: www.triathlon.barcelona
It is expected to exceed the 3.000 Subscribers, positioning the event as one of the major events on the national and European calendar in middle distance.
