El Challenge Salou 2025 is here, celebrating its Edition 10 with a luxury poster headed by the world champion Anne Haug.
The appointment will be this Sunday May 11 and promises to be a true triathlon festival on the Costa Daurada, combining medium-distance, short-distance, and popular races.

Starting Time
The event will start early on Sunday May 11:
- PRO Men: Departure at 08:00 (CEST)
- PRO Women's: Departure at 08:05 (CEST)
- Age groups: Departure at 08:20 (CEST)
The swimming segment will consist of two laps, followed by three laps on a fast bike course toward Tarragona, and a four-lap run along the seafront.

The broadcast will start at 08:00 CEST and will allow you to follow both professionals and age groups as they progress through the three disciplines.
Featured athletes
The big favorite will be Anne Haug (GER), which comes from winning the La Santa Volcano Triathlon Club in Lanzarote and has an impressive track record in the middle distance: eight wins y nine podiums in nine starts in Challenge Family races.
Among the main rivals are:
- Elisabetta Curridori (ITA): Winner of the Infinitri Peniscola in April.
- Judith Corachán Cowgirl (ESP): Champion of Salou in 2018 and 2019.
- Rachel Brown (GBR): Second in Salou last year.
In the men's draw:
- Thomas Davis (GBR): Middle distance specialist.
- Jonathan Wayaffe (BEL): Champion at Challenge Barcelona 2024.
- Victor Arroyo Bugallo (ESP): The best Spanish representative, seventh in 2023.
Particularities of the competition
This year a will be implemented anti-drafting zone special 20 meters separation between professional athletes. Overtaking must be done within a maximum of 40 seconds, which will increase the strategy in the cycling segment.
Furthermore, the route is designed to encourage fast times, especially for cycling on closed highways and for running along the seafront.
