Indoor cycling in Spain experienced a historic year in 2025, according to the official Zwift report, which reveals record figures in participation, kilometers accumulated and hours of activity.
Indoor cycling in Spain marks a historic year in 2025
Indoor cycling in Spain is experiencing its best moment. This is reflected in the new report from Zwift, the virtual platform that has transformed the way thousands of athletes train.
During 2025, the Spanish user community reached unprecedented figures, consolidating this modality as a key piece within modern training, both for cyclists and for multidisciplinary athletes.
According to the report's data, collected by Lymbus on behalf of Zwift, Spain is among the countries with the highest activity on the platform, both in training time and distance covered.
Spain pedals the equivalent of 33 years in a single year.
Throughout 2025, Spanish Zwifters registered 17,38 million minutes of training, which is equivalent to about 12.000 days on the bike or a symbolic total of 33 years of non-stop pedaling.
This figure illustrates the level of community commitment and how indoor cycling has become a solid alternative for training consistently, even when the weather is not ideal.
More than 500 trips around the world: this is how Spain cycled in 2025
Another striking piece of data in the report is the total distance traveled:
21.310.461 kilometers, which is approximately equivalent to:
- 6.000 Tours de France,
- 532 trips around the world,
- More than 50 trips to the Moon.
The growth of virtual cycling is not only seen in the regularity of training, but also in the volume accumulated throughout the year.
A global overview: the impact of indoor cycling on the world
Internationally, the Zwift report shows an increasingly active community.
By 2025, users completed 1.300 million km, the equivalent of 32.400 laps around the Earth's equator o nine times the distance between the Earth and the Sun.
The most used routes were the flattest ones in Watopia, especially:
- Tempus Fugit
- Tick Tock
- Flat Route
This indicates that many athletes have opted for constant pace sessions, ideal for working on aerobic endurance and sustained power.
But there was also room for inequality: the global community recorded 11.500 billion meters climbed, with a daily record of 78 million meters accumulated on January 5.
RoboPacers: the “virtual hares” that accompany cyclists
Zwift once again relied on its system of RoboPacers, the avatars that set constant rhythms throughout the 24 hours of the day.
The report's data shows that:
- The fastest pacers (Jacques, Genie and Constance, >3 w/kg) represent only the 12% of the total time.
- The most used were those with a medium pace:
- Miguel (1,8 w/kg)
- Maria (2,2 w/kg)
- Coconut (2,6 w/kg)
accumulating the 60% of the total hours.
This ensures that most users can find a pace that suits their level and goals, from beginners to advanced cyclists.
Competition and training: over 20 million sessions
The report also highlights Zwift's competitive dimension, an aspect that has grown considerably in recent years.
The following were completed in 2025:
- 20,1 million structured sessions,
- 2,2 million competitive activities, including time trials, individual races and team events.
Events like Zwift Tour, Zwift Unlocked o The Big Spin They have established themselves as genuine meeting points for the global community.
The average duration of the sessions was 59 minutesa perfect balance between intense workouts and maintenance sessions.
