What awaits you on the 2025 Santander City Triathlon circuit
Two months before its celebration, the Santander City Triathlon 2025 It already reveals its cards: spectacular routes, top-level athletes and an atmosphere that promises to be unforgettable.
With videos already posted on social media showing the route, triathletes are beginning to visualize every curve, every straight line, and every stride toward the finish line.
Foot race: urban, fast and scenic
The running circuit will be one of the most attractive on the national scene. Totally closed to traffic, it is flat, urban and with wide stretches ideal for maintaining a constant pace or pushing on the last lap.
- Olympic distance: 10,5 km (3 laps)
- Middle distance: 21 km (6 laps)
The start and finish will be at the Gamazo dam, and the runners will pass through emblematic areas such as Castelar, Pereda Walk, the Botín Center y the Port.

Cycling circuit: technical, demanding and with views
The cycling segment isn't far behind. Shared between both distances, this urban route visits iconic locations and combines technical sections with fast sections that will allow you to make a difference.
- Olympic distance: 40 km (2 laps of 20 km)
- Middle distance: 80 km (4 laps of 20 km)
From the Gamazo dam / Zaera dune, you access a route that includes the Gas Slope, the Queen Victoria Avenue, the Magdalena Peninsula and the Port of SantanderA perfect circuit for those who enjoy pedaling to the limit without losing sight of the sea.

Favorites confirmed on the starting line
The 2025 lineup is beginning to take shape, and some of the biggest names in Spanish and Iberian triathlon have already been confirmed:
- Diego Mentrida: one of the leading figures in Spanish triathlon, will be at the start on September 21.
- Pedro Gaspar: current 2025 Portuguese Middle Distance Champion, arrives hungry for podium finishes and with a great recent track record.
- Jaime Left: Winner at Santander 2021 and podium finisher in 2024, he returns eager to repeat his victory. He has been collecting medals in national competitions since 2021.
With these names, the competitive level will be assured in both the Olympic and middle distances.
Cash prizes for the best
Both the middle and Olympic distance will distribute cash prizes up to 10th place, with extra bonus for the podium:
Middle distance:
- 1st – €1.500
- 2st – €750
- 3st – €400
- 4st – €200
- 5th to 10th – €100
Olympic:
- 1st – €1.000
- 2st – €500
- 3st – €350
- 4st – €200
- 5th to 10th – €100
And yes: everyone who steps onto the podium will have free registration for the 2026 edition.
