On July 5th, the European Triathlon Championships by Clubs, and the Spanish team Imps from Rivas made history again with a double podium finish: silver in the elite category y bronze in junior.
This performance marks the best result achieved by the Madrid club in a continental competition of this level.
Elite Relay: Strategic Battle Against the French Favorite
The elite mixed relay team faced an explosive short distance format: 300 meters of swimming, 5,7 km of cycling and 1,7 km of relay running.
On this occasion, the Spanish team competed head to head against the powerful Issy Triathlon from France, which lined up top-level triathletes such as Celia Merle, Aurelien Raphael, Laura Moreau and Briac Tence.
Issy Triathlon took the victory with a time of 1:21:49, but the team of Imps, thanks to an outstanding first post of Paula from the Well, took the lead alongside the Dutch team.
Although in the second shift Iván Gil gave up some time, the third post of Lucia Acosta and the great final performance of Saúl Scarabajal They consolidated their second place, crossing the finish line with a time of 1:23:13, 1:24 behind gold.
Junior bronze with a very solid team
The junior category also brought joy to the Spanish delegation. The team formed by Sue Castello, Daniel Gamón, Julia Tenorio and Marcos Palomeque achieved third place, only behind the clubs Swim Tri Rzeszów y Brive Limousin Triathlon.
This medal reaffirms the excellent youth development work that the Rivas-Vaciamadrid club has been developing for years, which is reflected in the performance and potential of its promising young players.
A recognition to the entire club
