The city of Valencia will once again dress up for triathlon with the third edition of the HOMBRE DE HIERRO 70.3, which already has an official date: it will be the Sunday 19 2026 April.
This was announced by Valencia City Council in an official statement just two weeks after the second edition of the event.
Registration available from June 11
According to the organization, the registration period will open next 11 June, an opportunity awaited by thousands of national and international triathletes.
The announcement confirms that the test is consolidated in the calendar city sports.
An event with great economic and sporting impact
The 2025 edition, held on April 27, brought together more than 3.000 triathletes at the exit of The Marina of Valencia, generating an estimated economic impact of more than 9 million euros for the city. 65% of the participants were foreigners and 35% were nationals.
Furthermore, el 85 % debuted in the city, demonstrating the event's growing international appeal. Female participation reached 15% of total entries, a figure that continues to grow year after year.
Valencia consolidates its permanent headquarters
Councilor for Sports, Rocio Gil, celebrated the announcement, highlighting that “it is great news for Valencia to once again host an event like IRONMAN 70.3, with a very positive impact on both the sport and the local economy.”
The successful organization, the public response, and the beauty of the coastal environment are making Valencia a key venue for middle-distance triathlon in Europe.
From 2024 to 2026: three consecutive years of IRONMAN
The first edition of the IRONMAN 70.3 Valencia was held on April 21th 2024, followed by the second one April 27th 2025, and now the city is preparing to maintain its commitment to this sport with a third edition in April 2026.
