Gwen Jorgensen creates scholarship for young triathletes

Gwen Jorgensen is synonymous with excellence in triathlon. His gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics marked a turning point for the sport in the United States.

With a distinguished career in the World Series, a stint in professional athletics, and a return to high-level competition, his story has inspired thousands of athletes around the world.

But now, its impact goes beyond the stopwatch.

A scholarship to change lives through triathlon

In collaboration with the USA Triathlon Foundation, Jorgensen, with her husband Patrick Lemieux and the philanthropist Scott Filion, has launched the Gwen Jorgensen Scholarship Fund.

This initiative seeks to offer real opportunities to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who would otherwise be unable to access triathlon.

“The triathlon changed my life. I want to open that door for other children who don't have resources,” says Gwen.

The scholarship will cover costs such as registration, equipment, and training so that more children and adolescents can take up this sport.

Competing again with your eyes on 2025

Despite not being selected for the Paris 2024 Olympic team - she was a substitute - Gwen Jorgensen has not lost an iota of ambition. His goal now is the 2025 Triathlon World Series, where she will seek to compete again with the best in the world.

With renewed motivation, the American triathlete is combining her role as an elite athlete with this new role as a mentor and promoter of change.

The USA Triathlon Foundation joins the project
