A 2025 that made a difference
Wilde dominated last season. He won six out of seven tests which he competed in at the T100, showing a consistency that was unusual on such a demanding circuit.
Beyond the results, his performance stood out for the way he won: control in the swimming, measured aggression in the bike and a decisive footrace which allowed him to break away in the final kilometers.
From a serious injury to a world title
The road to the title was not straightforward. After winning the opening T100 race in Singapore, Wilde suffered a serious accident while training in Japanwith six broken ribs, a punctured lung and a damaged scapula.
For weeks his future in the sport was questioned. However, 226 days after the accidentThe New Zealander returned to compete at the highest level and ended up being crowned champion World Champion, adding victories in London, French Riviera, Spain, Wollongong and Qatar.
