HOMBRE DE HIERRO has confirmed that its two flagship middle-distance events in Spain for 2026 —IRONMAN 70.3 Valencia y Sapphire IRONMAN 70.3 Alcúdia-Mallorca— have posted the full sign with historic figures and an increasingly younger and more diverse athlete profile.
Valencia: the Mediterranean city that makes you fall in love
The 2026 edition of IRONMAN 70.3 Valencia has sold out. 45 days before that in 2025. With 3.000 triathletes registered and a 17% of female participation (two points more than in 2025), the event continues to consolidate itself as a reference in southern Europe.
The average age is 38 years, confirming a clear trend of rejuvenation. The largest groups are those of 30–34 years y 25–29, with a notable increase among younger people.
Mallorca: tradition and record participation
The Zafiro IRONMAN 70.3 Alcudia-Mallorca 2026 will be the 15th edition of this European classic. With 3.800 bibs sold or with a 18,5% of women, the test sold out registrations 75 days before that in 2025. The average age drops to 39 years, compared to 40 in the previous edition.
Mallorca continues to attract athletes from all over the world, with almost 1.000 repeat participants who return to relive the experience of swimming in the bay of Alcudia, rolling through the mountains and running between palm trees and the beach.
Triathlon is experiencing a generational change
These data reflect a clear phenomenon: triathlon is rejuvenating and gaining diversity. More and more young people and women are finding in the middle distance a way to experience sport with purpose and community.
