Lucy Charles and Chelsea Sodaro go head-to-head at the IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman

The next 8 June, HOMBRE DE HIERRO 70.3 Eagleman will bring together some of the world's best triathletes on the East Coast of the United States.

Among them stand out Lucy Charles-Barclay (2023 IRONMAN World Champion) and Chelsea Sodaro (2022 IRONMAN World Champion), who will meet again after their legendary duels in Kona.

Charles-Barclay, who is coming off a commanding victory at the La Santa IRONMAN Club in Lanzarote, is the favorite and will wear the number one jersey.

The Briton had not competed in a 70.3 since her close race at Kraichgau 2023, where she finished second to Laura PhilippNow in top form, she returns to a format where she has shined brightly (70.3 world champion in 2021).

For its part, Chelsea Sodaro will try to make amends after a few complicated months marked by health problems that affected him in both the IRONMAN Texas and the 70.3 St. George.

A long-awaited return: Holly Lawrence returns to competition

Another figure that generates expectation is Holly Lawrence, 70.3 world champion in 2016.

The British athlete, who became a mother in 2024, is returning to competition at Eagleman as part of her preparation for the T100 San Francisco and her first full Ironman in Lake Placid. It will be a good opportunity to gauge her fitness after motherhood.

Tamara Jewett wants to spoil the party

On a poster with so much historical weight, Tamara jewett She's not far behind. The Canadian, known for her explosiveness in the running segment, recently made her full-distance debut at IRONMAN Texas. At Eagleman, she'll be looking to score important points and, who knows, pull off an upset against the favorites.

Sanders vs. Long: New battle between friends and rivals

In the men's category, the show is guaranteed with a new installment of the modern classic Lionel Sanders vs Sam longTwo charismatic athletes, two distinct styles, and a rivalry that always provides a spectacular experience.

Sanders is coming off a victory at the 70.3 St. George, where he outlasted Long with a brilliant performance. Long, meanwhile, responded a week later by winning the 70.3 Chattanooga. In Eagleman, they'll face each other again with a lot at stake.

And pay attention to the Australian too. Cameron Wurf, a triathlete and professional cyclist for the Ineos team, whom Long called "rogue" for his tactics on the bike in St. George. His presence guarantees a high pace in the cycling segment.

Eagleman distributes points and tickets for the 2025 World Cup

The test, which is held in Maryland (USA), offers up to 2.500 points for the classification of the IRONMAN Pro Series and three places per gender for the Marbella 70.3 IRONMAN 2025 World Championship.
