Registration is now open for the first edition of the HOMBRE DE HIERRO 70.3 Vitoria-Gasteiz, an event that will be held in 2026 and will reinforce the triathlon tradition of one of the cities with the longest history of triathlon in Europe.

The new event will join the already established IRONMAN in the capital of Alava, offering triathletes of all levels the opportunity to choose their distance and experience a unique weekend together.

A great turnout is expected from both national and international triathletes, following the "sold out" trend that IRONMAN events in Spain have enjoyed in recent years.

The only IRONMAN Festival in Spain

The test will be part of the IRONMAN Festival, a format that already works in Italy and Portugal. As explained Agustí Pérez, Director of IRONMAN in Southern Europe:

"I'm very pleased to announce the introduction of IRONMAN 70.3 Vitoria-Gasteiz. Our athletes will enjoy magnificent courses, a city completely dedicated to the event, and an exceptional atmosphere."

With this addition, Spain will have its own official festival, reinforcing the country's position as one of the leading long- and medium-distance triathlon destinations.

A city that breathes triathlon

The arrival of IRONMAN 70.3 Vitoria-Gasteiz It is another step in the history of a city that has already seen thousands of finishers in the long-distance race.

A tour designed for everyone

The Vitoria 70.3 will offer a spectacular and accessible route:

  • Swimming: 1.9 km in the Ullíbarri-Gamboa reservoir.
  • Cycling: 90 fast and rolling km through the Alava plain, with just over 500 m of elevation gain and sections of the Camino de Santiago.
  • Race on foot: a half marathon in the city center, with a dedicated audience cheering every step.

A perfect cocktail of athletic performance, natural beauty, and city atmosphere.
