The IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Marbella will bring together 6.000 triathletes.
On June 27, Marbella celebrated the official presentation of the HOMBRE DE HIERRO 70.3 World Championship 2025 at an institutional event full of symbolism in Alameda Park.
Media outlets, local authorities, representatives from the Andalusian Regional Government, the Malaga Provincial Council, and IRONMAN officials gathered to showcase the magnitude of this championship, which will mark a milestone in Spanish triathlon.
The city will be the first Spanish venue and the fourth European to host a IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship, which represents a qualitative leap in the sporting and tourism positioning of the region.
More than 6.000 triathletes from 100 countries
As highlighted diana bertsch, senior vice president of IRONMAN World Championship Events, the event will feature more than 6.000 triathletes from more than 100 countries and will be held over two consecutive days (November 8 and 9).
The test will be broadcast free of charge on multiple international platforms, including proseries.ironman.com, OutsideTV (USA and Canada), DAZN y The Team (France), iQIYI (Asia) and YouTube.
Economic impact and global visibility
Francis Salad, president of the Malaga Provincial Council, estimated an economic impact of 60 millones de euros, added to a media visibility valued in more than 16 million.
"Marbella and the Costa del Sol will demonstrate their capacity to welcome thousands of people and project their image as a top-class destination," he declared.
