The 2026 IRONMAN calendar in France brings important new features

After the success of its first edition as HOMBRE DE HIERRO 70.3 in 2025, the city of Tours and the organization have confirmed that In 2026 they will host a full-distance IRONMAN eventThe date has already been set: June 14, 2026.

The course will be an expanded version of the current 70.3, with a river swim, a virtually flat cycling course, and a running race that culminates in an indoor transition and finish line, something unusual in Europe.

The region, known as the Garden of France, was highly praised by triathletes for its natural beauty and easy logistical access.

The 2025 edition saw a true triathlon celebration with more than 2.700 participants and very fast times, especially in the bike segment where more than 15 men broke the two-hour mark.

Les Sables d'Olonne returns to the IRONMAN 70.3 format

After holding a full-distance edition in 2025, Les Sables d'Olonne will return to the IRONMAN 70.3 format in 2026, with a date scheduled for July 5.

Launched in 2019, this event has become one of Europe's most sought-after races, notable for its spectacular start along the Vendée Globe canal, a cycling section that traverses coastal landscapes, and a foot race that runs through the port.

With the return to 70.3m, it will consolidate its position as the flattest event in France at this distance.
