A champion who appeared when the asphalt was hottest
The Norwegian Solveig Lovseth won with 8:28:27, completing a comeback in the decisive kilometers of the marathon.
After leading for much of the day, Taylor Knibb gave way in the final part; Kat matthews was second at 35'' and Laura Philipp completed the podium. It was the last solo female edition before the reunification of the World Championship in Kona starting next year.
