KOS Xtreme Triathlon debuts in the FETRI National Ranking
Next May 31, the municipality of Brena Alta, on the island of La Palma, will once again be dressed in epic style with the celebration of KOS Xtreme Triathlon, one of the toughest and most unique tests of the calendar national.
And he will do it for the first time as part of the National Ranking FETRI Medium and Long Distance Triathlon, consolidating its prestige within and outside the archipelago.
From the Atlantic to the skies of La Palma
With the slogan “Pure Feeling"As a flag, this fourth edition takes triathletes from the Bajamar Beach, at sea level, up to the imposing Boys roque, To over 2.400 meters.
The tour includes:
- 2.000 meters of swimming in the Atlantic Ocean, with two turns and a turn on the sand.
- 50 kilometers of cycling with 2.281 m of positive elevation gain, ascending between clouds and flowering tajinastes.
- 10 kilometers of foot race at the top, crossing the most important astrophysical observatory in Europe.
Modalities, novelties and records
This year the KOS incorporates a new team modality, allowing three triathletes to share the segments. In addition, a record female participation and international presence, with more than ten nationalities represented.

Luxury poster: favorites for the ring
The fight for victory looks exciting with names like:
- Thomas Steger (AUT), two-time champion.
- Diego Mentrida (ESP), winner of previous editions.
- Paco de la Paz, former Spanish long-distance champion.
- Josito Hernández, a great figure in the Canary Islands triathlon.
- Laurens Verluyten (BEL) and Erik Merino (ESP), who close the men's elite lineup.
In the women's category, the following stand out:
- Raquel Aróstegui (Diablillos de Rivas), in their first participation.
- Dominique Lothaller, who will seek to repeat the podium.
- Lisa Dornauer, Ana Alicia y Esther Hernández, giving local representation to the event.
