Marta Sánchez and Antonio Benito open the T100 season in Singapore.

The two Spanish triathletes will compete this weekend in the start of the world middle-distance circuit.

This weekend, Singapore is preparing to open fire with the T100 Triathlon World Tour 2025, and two Spanish triathletes will be on the starting line: Marta Sanchez y Antonio Benito.

Both are making their season debut on the most powerful middle-distance circuit, where the world's best athletes gather and the physical challenges are immense.

Marta Sánchez, between the fatigue of the IRONMAN and the excitement of the T100

Marta Sanchez arrives in Singapore with a mixture of motivation and some physical uncertainty.

Just a few days ago he stood on the podium at the HOMBRE DE HIERRO South Africa, where she finished second. A great race. But of course, we're talking about an Ironman... and recovery could determine her performance this Saturday.

Already in 2024 he demonstrated his potential in the middle distance by competing in Miami T100, where he finished in 11th position.

This year, with more experience and an exciting season, she'll try to take another step forward. Singapore's heat and humidity could work against her after the thrashing in South Africa, but if she comes into the game with spark, it wouldn't be surprising to see her challenge for the top 10.

Antonio Benito: permanent contract, intact ambition

Antonio Benito He's heading into 2025 with a different status. Last year, he only had one appearance in the T100, but it was enough: sixth in Ibiza, making it clear that he has the level to compete with the best in the world. That performance has earned him a fixed contract for the entire season, and his first test will be this Sunday in Singapore.

The La Mancha native has prepared this year with care and is at a point of sporting maturity. If he can stay in good shape on the bike and not give up too much in the swim, he could have a strong advantage in the running segment, where he usually performs very well.

Singapore will be a perfect test to see how far he can go this season.

When will Marta and Antonio compete?

  • Marta Sánchez will compete on Saturday, April 5that 8:00 (Spanish time).
  • Antonio Benito will do so on Sunday, April 6.at 9:00 (Spanish time).

The tests will be broadcast live on OutsideTV, with replays available to Outside+ subscribers.

Can we dream of a Spanish top-5?

On a circuit where the podium is sold dearly, both Marta , the Antonio They know that the key will be to manage their efforts well in an environment as extreme as Singapore.

But if they manage to race wisely and without overdoing it in the bike segment, they have plenty of arguments to compete with the big boys.
