Mediterranean Epic Triathlon 2025: Nearly reaching 1.500 registered triathletes

Next May 24 and 25, Oropesa del Mar and Cabanes will host the fourth edition of the Mediterranean Epic Triathlon, one of the most outstanding tests of the calendar national and European.
With 1.454 triathletes registered to date, the event is rapidly approaching the 1.500-participant mark.
This event, directed by Hector de la Cagiga, will bring together triathletes from more than a dozen countries and offer competitions in different formats: Full, Half, Olympic, Sprint and the modalities Long and Medium Distance Aquabike.
Venue of the Spanish Long Distance Championship
For the second consecutive year, the Mediterranean Epic Triathlon will host the Spanish Long Distance Championship, as well as the Spanish Aquabike LD Championship, which will be held on Saturday, May 24. It will also be a qualifying event for the circuit PTO.
The distance competition Full will 10.000 € in prizes to be distributed equally between men and women.
Distances and routes
The Mediterranean Epic Triathlon offers options for all levels. The routes, which may be subject to some changes, combine fast and accessible sections with more technical and challenging ones, allowing you to enjoy the surroundings of Oropesa del Mar y Hut while competing at the highest level.
Swimming:
- Full: 3.800 m (2 laps)
- Half: 1.900 m (1 lap)
- Olympic: 1.500 m (2 laps)
- Sprint: 750 m (1 lap)
Cycling:
- Full: 178 km / 1.560 m D+ (3 laps)
- Half: 86 km / 750 m D+ (2 laps)
- Olympic: 39 km / +260 m (2 laps)
- Sprint: 19,5 km / +130 m (1 lap)
Race on foot:
- Full: 42 km (4 laps of 10,5 km)
- Half: 21 km (2 laps of 10,5 km)
- Olympic: 10 km (2 laps of 5 km)
- Sprint: 5 km (1 lap)
Featured triathletes: Corachán, De la Paz, and Zorrilla's debut
The 2025 edition will feature the presence of Judith Corachán y Francis of Peace, current Spanish long-distance champions, who will compete again in Oropesa with the intention of defending their titles.
Also noteworthy is the long-awaited long-distance debut of the current Spanish middle-distance duathlon champion, Fernando Zorrilla, who will seek to debut in style on a top-level stage.
