Mediterranean Triathlon Alicante 2025 starts in the heart of the city

Official presentation at Paseíto Ramiro

 This Friday, May 16th, the Official presentation of the Mediterranean Triathlon Alicante 2025, from the emblematic Paseíto Ramiro, which will be the ground zero of the event for the first time.

The event was attended by Anthony Gallego, Councilor for Sports of the Alicante City Council, vanessa huesa, president of the Triathlon Federation of the Valencian Community, and Ana de Teresa, head of communications at Calconut, the main sponsor.

A privileged setting for sport

This year, The competition moves to the Paseo Ramiro, completely occupying the amphitheater and the finish line, right in the city center.

The square, located between the Old Town-Santa Cruz, with direct access to Juan Bautista Lafora Avenue and Gómiz Promenade, and with views of the Postiguet, offers a unique setting to experience the triathlon up close, with the restored fragment of the ancient walls of Alicante as a backdrop.

Institutional support: triathlon, tourism and family

During the act, Anthony Gallego, sports councilor, highlighted that:

"The consolidation of this event is fantastic news for our city. A competition that all Alicante residents and visitors can enjoy over the weekend, revitalizing our city and helping to reduce the seasonality of tourism. This year, it also has a very special social and family significance thanks to the new Family Duathlon."

The City Council is thus committed to triathlon as a sporting, economic, and social driving force for the city.

For its part, Ana de Teresa, from Calconut, highlighted the alignment between the values ​​of sport and those of the company:

“Sport represents values ​​we fully identify with: discipline, effort, perseverance, self-improvement, and teamwork. Our commitment to a healthier and more active society is real. That's why we support initiatives like this one.”

In addition, she linked the sponsorship to her work in healthy eating and functional nutrition, reinforcing her commitment to well-being.

Start the competition

This afternoon the activity starts in Paseíto Ramiro with the Delivery of bibs from 17:00 p.m. to 20:00 p.m., followed by In-person technical briefing at 19:00 p.m., where triathletes will learn the logistical and safety details for the weekend's events.

The city is preparing for a weekend full of sport, inclusion, and good vibes by the Mediterranean.
