Pevtsov and Nicolas win the OTSO VI Half Gasteiz with a record attendance.
Pello Osoro takes the podium

On June 7th a new edition of the OTSO VI Half Gasteiz, one of the most relevant tests of the calendar national middle distance.
The event, which counts towards the National Ranking of Medium and Long Distance Triathlon of the FETRI, brought together more than 830 triathletes, including 150 women, setting a new participation record.
International victory in both categories
In the men's category, the Ukrainian Rostislav Pevtsov He fulfilled his role as favorite. He led the swimming (24:35) alongside the Taiwanese Tzu I Pan (24:33), and both maintained the pulse during the cycling segment until being reached by the Spaniard Pello Osoro at kilometer 60.
Together they reached T2, but Pevtsov sealed the race in the running segment with a powerful urban pace, stopping the clock at 3:42:16. He was followed by Emmanuel lejeune (4th, 3:48:32), the Swiss matthew reddy (5th, 3:51:40) and the Basque Joanes Goitisolo (6th, 3:54:54).

Chloe Nicolas shines in the women's race
In the women's category, the Frenchwoman based in Spain Chloe Nicholas achieved a hard-fought victory.
Third in 2024, this time she managed to take the win thanks to her excellent performance in the running race. The Australian Mikayla Messer was the fastest in the water (25:02), but could not maintain the lead beyond the halfway point of the half marathon.
Nicolas made up ground on the bike (2:53:57 to Messer's 2:52:01) and finished with a solid run to cross the finish line in 4:22:49. The women's podium was completed by Mikayla Messer y Janina Saarno

Spectacular atmosphere in a historic edition
Starting at the Ullíbarri-Gamboa reservoir and finishing on the central Fueros street in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the route once again demonstrated its challenging and beautiful nature. The crowd responded enthusiastically, especially during the three urban laps of the final segment.
Participants from more than 40 provinces and international representation with athletes from Australia, Finland, Belgium, Taiwan, and Switzerland reinforced the global nature of the event, which has established itself as one of the major middle-distance events in Spain.
