Patrick Lange He's back. After several months of injury, the German triathlete returns to competition this Sunday, June 29th at the HOMBRE DE HIERRO Frankfurt, his “home” race, where he will face a luxury poster headed by the Norwegians Kristian Blummenfelt y Gustav Iden.
Difficult months after his abandonment in Texas
Lange, the reigning IRONMAN World Champion after his epic victory in Kona 2024, was forced to withdraw from IRONMAN Texas last April due to inflammation of his adductor tendon. He hasn't competed since. His only appearance in 2025 was at IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside, where he finished 17th after a very limited run.
“Finally pain-free”
On her Instagram account, Lange shared her excitement about this new opportunity at home:
“Race week! 🤩 Excited for my fifth start at IRONMAN Frankfurt, my home race in Hessen. It's a circuit I haven't mastered yet, but the dream of winning here always keeps me coming back.
The road after the injury wasn't easy, but I'm now pain-free and in good spirits. Even though the pollen is making it difficult, I'm ready to fight!

In search of his first win in Frankfurt
Although it has won three IRONMAN world titles (2017, 2018 and 2024), Frankfurt has always resisted Patrick LangeHis best result was a third place in 2018. Last year, he finished eighth. This will be his fifth participation in the event.
