El Santander City Triathlon 2025 It was presented this Wednesday with resounding success before its celebration next September 21.

The test, included in the National Ranking of Middle and Long Distance of the FETRI, has exhausted the numbers with 750 Subscribers and has more than 200 athletes on the waiting list.

The official event brought together Susana Ruiz, Director General of Sports of the Government of Cantabria; Beatriz Pellon, Councilor for Sports of Santander; as well as representatives of the main sponsors (Cantabria Labs, Banco Santander and Grupo Pitma) and the beneficiary associations of the solidarity bib.

Unstoppable growth

The test director, Enrique Conde, recalled how in just five years, the triathlon has grown from 110 Olympic-distance entrants to becoming an event with multiple modalities and a national presence.

"We've achieved a full house, and that encourages us to continue growing," he emphasized. He also highlighted the role of institutions and volunteers:

"Santander has always supported this event, as has the Government of Cantabria and all the volunteers, who are a fundamental part of it."

Tours with a Cantabrian flavor

The athletes will swim in the Bay of Santander, cycle along the coast passing through La Magdalena, El Sardinero and the S-20, and run on foot with the Festival Palace and the port as main stages.

The urban and coastal setting reinforces the event's identity as one of the great triathlons in northern Spain.

Solidarity on every bib

The solidarity number is once again the protagonist with the support of the Down Syndrome Foundation Cantabria, the Asociation Quality in Dependency and the collective Immortal Challenge.

For the Director General of Sports, Susana Ruiz, the event transcends the sporting:

"More than 750 triathletes from 13 countries and 37 autonomous communities will participate in an event that will be a catalyst for the city. We want to highlight the female presence, with 113 registered women."

Santander, a national benchmark

Councilwoman Beatriz Pellon He emphasized the importance of this event for Santander: "We want to thank the athletes, the public, and the volunteers for their dedication. This event places Santander, along with Zarautz, as national benchmarks for top-level triathlon."

Backed by more than 240 volunteers With the support of its sponsors, the 2025 Santander City Triathlon promises a weekend that combines sport, tourism, and solidarity.
