Eagles opens the National Triathlon Leagues with 744 teams
Águilas will host the start of the Iberdrola League and the Suzuki Triathlon League 2026 on May 9 and 10, with 744 teams and almost 3.300 bibs in competition.
The city of Murcia will once again be one of the major meeting points for national triathlon with a weekend that will bring together the Queen Iberdrola Cup, the Suzuki King's Cup, Spanish Triathlon Relay Championship and two nationals from the Talent League.
The event will kick off the first two rounds of the senior club leagues and will also be key for the National League of Triathlon Talent Clubs, reserved for the cadet and junior categories.
Águilas is once again a key venue for the national triathlon
La Iberdrola Women's League and Suzuki Men's League They will start in Águilas with two very important formats within the club calendar: the team time trial of the Queen's Cup and the King's Cup, and the Spanish Triathlon Relay Championship.
The Spanish Triathlon Federation is preparing a large-scale operation for a weekend with almost 3.300 registered athletes distributed among the 744 equipment who will compete in the different events.
The appointment was presented by Christopher Casado, mayor of Águilas; Francis Xavier Sanchez, Director General of Sports of the Region of Murcia; Diego Calvo, president of the Triathlon Federation of the Region of Murcia; and Salvador Palazón, manager of the Municipal Sports Centre.
What competitions are held in Águilas?
The program will begin on Saturday May 9 at 10:00 a.m. with the Spanish Team Time Trial Triathlon Championship for Talents.
In the afternoon, one of the main blocks of the weekend will arrive, with the Queen Iberdrola Cup for the women's teams and the Suzuki King's Cup for the men's teams.

The first test for the First Division clubs
The Iberdrola League and the Suzuki Triathlon League 2026 will be decided over several days, but Águilas will already make the first differences in the classification.
Following this opening, the schedule will continue in Roquetas de Mar on May 30 and 31 with the Spanish Triathlon Club Championship and the Spanish Triathlon Relay/Pairs Championship.

The previous days were held in Ciudad Real and Avilés, with the Spanish Duathlon Championships for Talent Teams, Talent Relays and Mixed Talent Relays.
