First PROS confirmed for The Championship 2025

With one month to go until its celebration, The Championship 2025 is already starting to warm up its engines with the publication of the first confirmed names in the PRO category.
On May 18, more than 80 elite triathletes will compete in this emblematic middle-distance event organized by Challenge Family, with a succulent pot of 100.000 € in prizes.
The meeting will take place, as usual, at the x-bionic® sphere, in Šamorín (Slovakia), an Olympic high-performance center that will welcome athletes from all over the world.
The competition will be held over the usual distances of A 1,9 km swim in the Danube, a 90 km bike ride through the Slovak countryside, and a 21,1 km run. within the enclosure itself, on surfaces as varied as grass, sand, cobblestones and pavement.
Frederic Funk, going for victory after five podium finishes
One of the big names that will try again in 2025 is the German Frederic Funk, who has already stepped onto every step of the podium… except the top one. Runner-up in the 2024 edition, Funk returns with a clear goal: to win.
But it won't be easy. The British rider will also be on the starting line. Kieran Lindars, recent third in Challenge Sir Bani Yas, his compatriot Tom Bishop, second in the Challenge Roth last year, and the Australian Aaron Royle, current world number one in the swimming segment, who also finished second in this event.
Also keep an eye on the debut of the young Greek Panagiotis Bitados, undefeated in 2024 with wins at Kaiserwinkl-Walchsee and Sanremo. The previous champion also returns Florian Angert (GER) and Danish Kristian Høgenhaug, third last year.
In the women's category, Sara Pérez Sala returns and big names make their debut.
The Catalan Sara Pérez Sala, champion in 2022 and runner-up at Sir Bani Yas this year, will return to Šamorín with the intention of returning to the top.
In front of you will have the Swiss alani siffert, Winner Challenge Family World Bonus 2024, who managed to finish first or second in all nine of his races last season, including Peguera Mallorca and Xiamen.
