The PTO receives a new multi-million dollar investment to expand the T100
La Professional Triathletes Organization (PTO) has announced the Successful completion of a new Series C investment round, leadered by SURJ Sports Investment, with the support of other strategic partners such as Cordillera, Verance Capital and the influential Sir Michael Moritz.
This financial injection will allow the PTO to boost its global growth and perfect the circuit format. T100 Triathlon World Tour and strengthen the commitment to both professional athletes and the thousands of fans who participate in their events.
The Middle East in the spotlight: Saudi Arabia and Qatar take center stage
The round also opens the door to a Greater presence in the MENA region, with Saudi Arabia as the likely future host of one of the major events of the calendar.
In 2025, the season will culminate in Qatar, host of the first T100 Triathlon World Championship Final as part of a new five-year agreement with Visit Qatar.
Danny Townsend, CEO of SURJ, noted: “The PTO is redefining endurance sports. We saw it firsthand at the Dubai 2024 final, and we're convinced of its potential in the Middle East to engage new audiences.”.
SURJ, established in 2023, seeks to develop a world-class sports ecosystem in Saudi Arabia through strategic investments in high-potential sports properties.
Verance Capital and Cordillera also join the project
Together with SURJ, Verance Capital, directed by the veteran of North American sports Lyle Ayes, also joins the organization's capital. "We evaluate many emerging sports, but the T100 stands out for its global scale, established athlete base, and premium competition format," Ayes explained.
This operation is added to the $10 million contributed by Cordillera Investment Partners in March 2025, reinforcing investment support after previous support from Warner Bros. Discovery, Divergent Investments y Eckuity.
More than a professional circuit: a global experience
In the words of the PTO CEO, Sam renouf, "This is a key milestone for our organization and for the future of triathlon. With these new partners, we have greater capacity to grow the sport globally and offer inclusive experiences for all types of athletes.".
The PTO's vision is clear: to mix high performance with formats open to popular participation, as has already been seen in Singapore or Dubai, where Thousands of amateurs compete alongside the best in the world in the same event.
An ambitious 2025: from San Francisco to Qatar, via Valencia
The T100 Triathlon World Tour has grown from seven to nine stops This year, with events in cities such as Singapore, San Francisco, Vancouver, London, France, Valencia, Wollongong, Dubai and Qatar.
This global format, which combines spectacle, competition, and closeness to fans, has proven to be one of the great challenges of modern triathlon.
