Sara Pérez Sala, double world podium in a single day in Wollongong

What happened this Saturday in Wollongong (Australia) It was one of those feats that will be remembered for a long time.

triathlete Sara Pérez Sala completed a unique day: Paratriathlon world champion as a guide to Susana Rodríguez in the PTVI category, and hours later, third in the T100 Wollongong, sharing the podium with Kate Waugh y Ashleigh Gentle.

The day started early, with the Paratriathlon World Championship under almost perfect conditions.

In the female PTVI test, Susana Rodríguez y Sara Pérez Sala confirmed why they are the strongest couple on the international circuit.

Despite a small stumble in the transition, the Galicians recovered to dominate the final stretch of the race and achieve a new World title to the cheers of the Australian public.

With this gold, Rodríguez adds a new success to its list of achievements and consolidates its path towards the next Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games. For Sara Perez, was the beginning of a day that few would believe possible.

Five hours later… third in the T100 Wollongong

With hardly any rest, Pérez Sala returned to the same stage to compete in the T100 Wollongong 2025, the penultimate event on the international middle-distance circuit.
Far from being reserved, she came out strong from the start, dominating the swim alongside the British Kate Waugh and the Dutch Lotte Wilms.

After staying in the leading group during the 80 km of cycling, the Spanish woman dropped down to run in fourth position and withstood the pressure of Ashleigh Gentle, ending in a brilliant Third place with a total time of 3:32:31.

A physical and mental feat that's hard to match: two international competitions, two world podiums, all in the same day.
