Swim GP 2025: Cascais consolidates its position as a world leader in open water swimming

Last weekend was held in Cascais one of the most outstanding tests of the calendar international open water: the Swim Grand Prix 2025.

With a record participation of 805 swimmers from 44 nations —42% of them foreigners—the event once again demonstrated why it is now a must-attend event for the global aquatics community. This year saw a record for participation and national diversity in the history of Swim GP.

Cascais, with its privileged natural setting and excellent connections to Spain, is emerging as an ideal destination for those looking to combine tourism, personal challenge, and high-quality competition.

All distances, for all levels

The Swim GP offers a range of tests that go from 1 km until the 20 km, allowing both beginners and experienced swimmers to find their ideal challenge.

This year, the longer distances established themselves as European benchmarks, attracting true ultra-distance specialists.
