T100 Dubai 2025: the penultimate stop before the global finale in Qatar
El T100 Triathlon World Tour returns to Dubai, one of the most emblematic venues in the calendar, where last year Marten Van Riel y Taylor Knibb were proclaimed inaugural champions of the circuit.
In 2025, the event takes on special significance: it's the prelude to the grand final in Qatar and could determine the next middle-distance world champions.
After a year of absolute dominance, Hayden Wilde He arrives undefeated. The New Zealander has won all the races he has contested—Singapore, London, the French Riviera, Spain, and Wollongong—and has the maximum possible points (140) before the final.
His aggressiveness on the bike and his race pace have made him the reference for the T100 distance, a 100 km format (2 km swimming, 80 km cycling and 18 km running) officially recognized by World triathlon as a world championship in middle distance without drafting.
Men's favorites: all against Hayden Wilde
Thirty elite triathletes will meet in Dubai, but the big question remains the same: will anyone be able to stop them? Hayden Wilde?
The Belgian Marten Van Riel returns to the circuit after his time in the World Championship HOMBRE DE HIERRO, where he put in a solid performance.
His return marks his first appearance in the T100 since Vancouver, where he finished second. Also in the mix are names such as mika noodt, one of the most consistent of the year with four consecutive podiums, and Jamie riddle, who has earned the respect of the public for his courage in the water and his ability to take risks from the first kilometer.
Another contender to consider is Youri Keulen, who has already been close to the podium in Wollongong and is looking to close out the year with a great result.
The most notable absence will be that of the Belgian Jelle Geens, the only one who had managed to unsettle Wilde in previous tests.
Women's category: Knibb, Charles-Barclay and Waugh headline a star-studded lineup
In the women's event, Dubai will feature four of the top five in the rankings: Kate Waugh, Lucy Charles-Barclay, Julie Derron y Taylor Knibb. The british waugh, who is coming off a win in Wollongong, is the provisional leader with 128 points and could secure the title before the final if he achieves another podium finish.
Knibb, the reigning T100 world champion, returns to action after a brilliant run in the IRONMAN World Championship, and remains one of the most feared competitors at this distance.
For its part, Lucy Charles-Barclay, the 2023 IRONMAN World Championship runner-up and one of the most powerful swimmers on the circuit, will look to leverage her strength in the water to make a difference from the start.
To them is added Jess Learmonth, sixth overall, with two T100 podiums in 2025 and an always aggressive strategy.
The women's team is completed with figures such as Paula Findlay, Georgia Taylor-Brown —remembered for her leadership on the French Riviera— and Hannah Berry, fourth in the recent IRONMAN World Championship and a candidate to cause an upset.
