Águilas brings together 2000 triathletes for the Spanish Championships

Four national titles at stake

The Murcian municipality of Águilas is preparing to experience an intense weekend with up to four Spanish triathlon championships which will bring together around two thousand athletes from all over the country.

The program features the Sprint Triathlon Spain Championship, Paralympic, Inclusive and of Mixed Talent Relay, the latter in charge of closing the 2025 Club Talent League.

Competition calendar

The activity starts on Saturday September 13 ’s relationship with the National Mixed Talent Relay Championship, a test aimed at cadets and juniors that will decide the final classification of the League after its stops in Avilés, Ciudad Real and Roquetas de Mar. The first start is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. (League teams) and 9:02 a.m. for the Open teams.

That same day will also be celebrated Spanish Championship of Paralympic Triathlon starting at 11:30 a.m., with the presence of triathletes of different classes and medals up for grabs.

In the afternoon it will be the turn of Elite Sprint TriathlonThe men's race will begin at 17:00 p.m. and the women's race at 19:00 p.m. The age group races will also begin at 14:30 p.m.

El Sunday September 14 It will be reserved for the qualifying series for cadets, youth and juniors (from 9:00 a.m.) and the finals of each category (from 12:00 p.m.).

The icing on the cake will be the Spanish Inclusive Triathlon Championship, which will begin at 13:30 p.m., combining efforts between conventional and Paralympic triathletes.

Challenge 300 in play

The Águilas Sprint National will also be the venue for the third 300 Challenge trophy of the season, a parallel classification that rewards the most consistent athlete in the three segments of swimming, cycling, and running. To qualify, elite athletes must finish in the top ten of each section.

In 2025 they have already taken the 300 Challenge María Varo y nacho galvez in the national Duathlon of Cáceres, and Maite Jimenez Orta y Genís Grau at the national Olympic Games in A Coruña.

Lorenzo López Díaz Memorial

As every year, the Lorenzo López Díaz Memorial Trophy, which distinguishes the club with the greatest participation in the Águilas tests.

2025 Club Talent League

The appointment with the relays will decide the final classification of the Triathlon Club Talent League.

In Women's First Division, the Náutico de Narón school leads with 338 points, followed by the Cidade de Lugo Fluvial and the Delikia Sports Club. In the men's category, the Cidade de Lugo Fluvial who arrives in the lead, ahead of Delikia and Capex.

What happened in 2024

In the last edition of the Sprint championship, held in A Coruña, the victory went to Maite Jiménez-Orta (Peñota Dental Alusigma) with a time of 55:09, followed by Noelia Juan y Marta Pintanel.

 In the men's elite he won Genís Grau (Cidade de Lugo Fluvial) with 49:59, beating nacho galvez y Andres Prieto.
