The Portocolom 2025 Triathlon opens the European season

On Sunday, April 13, the European triathlon season begins with the traditional event in Portocolom (Felanitx), Mallorca
The test has tosold out the numbers with 600 participants who will compete in two distances: 55.5 and 111 kilometers.
This year, almost 60% of the triathletes come from 23 different nationalities, confirming the international importance of the event. In addition, a historical record with more than 20% female participation.
Big favorites repeat in Mallorca
In the demanding distance of 111 kilometers (1 km swimming, 100 km cycling and 10 km running) big names return such as the current champion, the Swiss Petra Eggenschwiler, who will defend his title wearing the number 1 jersey.
On the other hand, German Lukas Schnodewind, winner in 2024, will seek to repeat his triumph against tough rivals like the Italian Domenico Passuello, winner in 2019, and the Belgian vincent van dewalle, runner-up in the last edition.
Spectacular and demanding route
The route will begin in the crystal-clear waters of Portocolom, followed by a particularly challenging cycling section with the double ascent to Sant Salvador.
The foot race takes place through the picturesque streets of the town, with exclusive access to the iconic lighthouse, open only for this competition.
Powerful female participation
The women's category features heavyweight names such as the Spanish Claudia Striekwold y Eider Bereziartua, along with the Irish Eilidh Prize and the British Caroline Livesey, who will challenge Eggenschwiler for the podium.
Bartomeu Caldentey, event ambassador
The international Mallorcan paratriathlete Bartomeu “Barto” Caldentey will be the ambassador for this edition, once again demonstrating the Portocolom Triathlon's commitment to inclusive sport. Additionally, the TriKids Duathlon, aimed at younger audiences, will be held the previous Saturday.
Consolidated organization
The event is organized by Kumulus and the Portocolom Triathlon Club, with the support of Felanitx City Council and sponsorship of the Mallorca Tourism Foundation, reinforcing Mallorca's position as a quality sports destination.
