TRITON 1 Lisbon: A fast-paced urban triathlon in September
An urban, fast and perfect debut experience

A new edition of the will be held on September 6 and 7, 2025 TRITON 1 Lisbon, one of the most beloved tests of the calendar international middle-distance triathlon.
This test will also be the Last chance of the year to qualify for the TRITON World Series Grand Final, and does so with an original format that combines three distances on the same circuit.
An urban route, closed to traffic and very fast
The event takes place in the modern neighborhood of Parque das Nações, with a completely urban circuit closed to traffic. The three distances available are:
- Shorts: 600m swim – 21,6km bike – 5km run
- Middle: 1.200m swim – 43,2km bike – 10km run
- Full: 1.800m swim – 86,4km bike – 20km run
The cycling segment runs along wide avenues and highways, including the IC2, with fast profiles and gently rolling terrain. The route consists of several laps, with refreshment points every 22,5 km.
Swimming in calm waters
Swimming is held in the Olive Dock, an artificial lake in front of the Lisbon Oceanário.
It's a perfect environment for swimming thanks to its visibility and completely calm water, with average temperatures of 18°C.
Laps vary depending on distance:
- 1 lap for Short
- 2 laps to Middle
- 3 laps for Full
The circuit is very accessible to the public, allowing them to cheer on the participants at several strategic points.
A foot race to fly
The foot race is completely flat, with a round trip between the Oceanarium area and the imposing Vasco da Gama Bridge, one of the longest in Europe.
There are refreshment points every 2,5 km, and the organizers rely on volunteers to facilitate interaction with the general public in this shared space.
Options for all levels… and for the little ones too!
The TRITON 1 Lisbon isn't just designed for individual triathletes. It also features:
- Corporate teams (Short distance only)
- Family Swim & Run on Saturday 6th, where parents and children can participate together.
- Registration by groups: If you register a group of 10 people, you get 2 free bibs.
How to get there and what to do in Lisbon
Lisbon Airport (LIS) is just a 10-minute drive from Parque das Nações.
The organization recommends arriving on Friday September 5, to enjoy the city and try its famous “paste de nata” before competing.
In addition, participating in Lisbon will give you exclusive access to register for the TRITON Series finals, which will be held weeks later.
