Last-minute changes to the Triton 1 Lisbon walking tour
El Triton 1 Lisbon has announced a modification to the running course due to roadworks and the condition of the pavement in and around the transition area.
The organization has informed triathletes to take these variations into account on competition day.
Adjustments at the start of the race
Upon exiting the transition, participants should turn right toward the Lisbon Oceanarium, next to the swim start point. There, they will find the first return turn, which will be used only once, at the start of the race, approximately 150 meters from the transition.
New turning points for laps
For those competing in the medium (2 laps) or long (4 laps) distances, there will be a new turning point closer to the transition at the start of each lap.
The turn at the opposite end of the course remains the same for everyone: approximately one kilometer after the refreshment station.
Reduction of total distance
With these adjustments, the organization has confirmed that the race will be slightly shorter: about 150 meters less in the sprint test, 300 meters in the middle distance and 600 meters in the long distance.
Safety and signage guaranteed
The organizers insist that the course will be well marked and that their priority has been to ensure the safety of all athletes.
The message is clear: everyone will compete under the same conditions and with a route adapted to avoid risks in construction zones.
An international middle-distance event in Lisbon
The Triton 1 Lisbon has established itself as one of the benchmark events in Portugal for international middle- and long-distance triathlons.
These modifications do not affect the spirit of the event or the experience of the athletes, who will be able to enjoy a safe and lively course in the Portuguese capital.
