exclusively for improving in triathlon.
September is a month of reflection and final goals. Many triathletes close out the year with a 70.3 or a HOMBRE DE HIERRO complete, and in that scenario every detail counts.
One of the most important—and sometimes forgotten—is the choice of trisuit.
Should you opt for a one-piece jumpsuit or a two-piece set?
The decision goes far beyond aesthetics: we're talking about aerodynamics, comfort during the final marathon, and even how to manage nutrition.
In Triathlon News we analyze it with real examples from the 2024-2025 collection of INVEST, a Spanish brand that dresses hundreds of triathletes in Spain and beyond, from age groups to professionals.
The theory: advantages and disadvantages of each option

1 piece
The full suit is a favorite of many elite triathletes. The continuous fabric offers improved aerodynamics, fewer seams, and a "second-skin" feel. It also provides better sun protection and maintains stable compression for hours.
Its biggest drawback: ventilation and comfort during stops. If you need to open it to cool off, the zipper is usually only partial and doesn't allow for as much adjustment as a two-piece suit.
NOTE 2
The top and shorts set scores points for versatility. You can fully unzip the jersey, better adjust the temperature on hot days, and access the pockets more quickly. It's also more practical if you have to make an emergency stop.
The weak point is in the aerodynamics: that "cut" at the waist can take a few seconds off if the top doesn't fit well, and in some cases the movement can cause it to ride up slightly.
How it translates to a 70.3 or an IRONMAN
- If your goal is to go attached for hours to the bikeThe 1-piece suit is your ally: more stable, fewer wrinkles and better airflow.
- If you run on a day of heat Or if you are one of those who eats and drinks often, the two-piece makes it easy to open the chest to ventilate and always have nutrition at hand.
- If you are a debutante In the distance, the 2-piece is usually more comfortable and flexible in sizes.
- And if you do a duathlon or a tri suit with neoprene, an open-back 1-piece or a 2-piece with breathable fabrics can save you seconds in transition.
Examples in the INVERSE 24-25 collection

INVERSE, with a factory in Barcelona and years of experience outfitting clubs and triathletes, has brought these ideas to its new collection:
2 pieces LD – WEAVE (man) y POLKA (woman)
- Full zip on the top for maximum ventilation.
- Aero sleeves with an inner grip that won't budge even after hours of effort.
- Mesh back pocket drains water from swimming.
- Thermal range of 22 to 38 °C and light weight (205 g in WEAVE).
A combination designed for those seeking performance without sacrificing comfort.
1 piece LD – STRIPES (open back)
- Continuous coverage and technical fabrics to wick away sweat.
- The open back version makes it easy to remove the wetsuit at T1.
- “All-in-one” feel for confidently coupled riding.
Ideal for those who prioritize aerodynamics and a compact fit.
Details that make a difference
In both formats, INVERSE has taken into account aspects that triathletes value:
- Laser-cut sleeves with inner grip that seal the air.
- Draining pockets so as not to be burdened when leaving the water.
- Lightweight, quick-drying fabrics, which maintain comfort even in humid climates.
And a detail that is increasingly seen in the goals: the possibility of personalize the trisuit with your “nickname”.
For just €4 + VAT, many age groups have opted to wear their nickname on the back or front, which not only adds identity, but also makes the suit easier to spot in the pits and shines in finish line photos.
Quick comparison
| Use cases | 1 PIECE (LD) | 2 PIECES (LD) |
| Aerodynamics | Very high (continuous fabric) | High if the top fits well |
| Ventilation | Limited (partial zipper) | Maximum (full zip) |
| Access to pockets | Correct, compact | Very easy |
| Technical stops | Less comfortable | Very comfortable |
| Sensation | “Second skin”, stable compression | Flexible and adaptable |
| When it shines | Long bikes coupled, warm days | Hot days, frequent feeding, beginners |
The TN verdict
For medium and long distance, there is no single answer: the choice depends on your profile.
If you are a closed roller, obsessed with aerodynamics and feel comfortable with compression, the 1 piece It's your suit. If you run in the heat, want to ventilate on demand and are looking for practicality, the NOTE 2 will make your life easier.
The important thing is to choose wisely, try it on before the big event, and remember that, in races lasting so many hours, clothing ceases to be an accessory: it becomes your second skin.
And INVERSE is clear about this: technical materials, careful finishes, and an added touch of identity that more and more triathletes are embracing with their own nickname.
