The Volcano Triathlon 2026 is entering its final stretch
The La Santa Volcano Triathlon 2026 Club is keeping registrations open until April 20th for its April 25th edition in Lanzarote, a historic Olympic distance race that continues to occupy its own place in the Spanish calendar.
El Volcano Triathlon will be contested again next April 25th 2026 en Club Santa, with the classic format of 1,5 km of swimming, 40 km of cycling and 10 km of running race.
The organization is keeping the registration period open until April 20, in the final stretch before a test that will reach its Edition 42.
We're not just talking about another Olympic event on the calendar, but about the Spain's longest-running international triathlon, a race that has been part of Lanzarote's sporting identity since 1984 and has seen generations of triathletes pass through one of the most recognizable territories of European triathlon.
Why the Volcano remains a special race
El La Santa Volcano Triathlon Club It has built its prestige on an unusual mix. It has history, a recognizable format, and a setting that doesn't quite resemble that of other national events.
Swimming takes place in the La Santa Club lagoonCycling takes place on roads exposed to the wind on the island, and running brings the atmosphere back to the resort facilities.
This combination makes the Volcano race attractive to a wide range of athletes. For some, it's a race with a classic feel. For others, it's the first major Olympic event of the year. And for many triathletes, it's a way to compete in Lanzarote without having to tackle the long distance.
A good test before IRONMAN Lanzarote
Another point that keeps the interest in this edition alive is its fit within the island's calendar.
The Volcano arrives a few weeks before the Club La Santa IRONMAN LanzaroteThis makes it a useful event for anyone who wants to compete, get into a rhythm, or simply test themselves in a demanding environment before the big goal in May.
You can still register
The test keeps the Registrations until April 20, 2026 or until all places are filled. The current price for this last period is 80,50 euros for a single, with the option also of relays.
The event will also include the program Volcano Kidsmaintaining that family component that has also accompanied the weekend for years.
A classic that still has a place in 2026
In a calendar increasingly crowded with franchises, series, and events vying for attention, the Volcano Triathlon It continues to champion something simpler and harder to copy: continuity, identity, and a recognizable environment. It doesn't need to reinvent itself every year to remain relevant.
