Ana Carballo and Chente Hernández lead Spain's victory in Ceuta.

Under an intense African sun, the city of Ceuta It was the scene of a perfect day for Spanish triathlon.

In one of the last stops of the calendar international, our triathletes dominated the European Cup 2025, achieving a double collective victory that confirms the great moment of national form.

Ana Carballo achieves her first international triumph

In the women's event, the Galician Ana Carballo Gomez Carballo took his first international victory with authority. The race was highly tactical from the start, with a group of fifteen triathletes arriving near the finish line. Everything would be decided in the final 5 kilometers, where Carballo knew how to read the race perfectly.

With a foot race from less to more, the triathlete of Ferrol Triathlon took the lead in the final stretch to cross the finish line in 1:02:07, seven seconds ahead of the Italian Asia Mercatelli and twelve over his compatriot Natalia Castro-Santos, also Galician, who completed the Spanish double on the podium.

Marina Munoz Hernando was fourth, very close to bronze, while Cecilia Santamaría Surroca (6ª) and Cristina Jiménez-Orta Guerrero (8th) also made it into the top ten.

Vicente “Chente” Hernández returns to the international podium

In the men's category, the heat and swimming without a wetsuit marked the start of a very open event.
