Marina Muñoz and Jarno Pousada win the Soria Duathlon, the last national qualifier for the Spanish Championship
The Soria Duathlon 2026 concluded the qualification process for the Spanish Duathlon Championship with the victory of Marina Muñoz and Jarno Pousada in the elite race, on a day that brought together more than 250 participants.
Soria hosted on Sunday, February 8, the second and final national qualifier for the 2026 Spanish Duathlon Championship, which will be held in the coming weeks in Cáceres.
The event featured elite male and female competitions, as well as promotional races and the Castilla y León Regional Youth Championship.
In the women's race, Marina Muñoz, from the Soriano Triathlon Deporama, he won with a time of 1:04:39confirming his good form on a demanding circuit.
Second position went to Maria Tenorio, from the Imps from Rivas, who crossed the finish line in 1:06:11While Lucia Gracia, from the Stadium Casablanca Mapei, completed the podium with 1:06:13just two seconds behind the silver medalist. Fourth place went to andrea wheat, from Deportivo Delikia, and fifth Amanda Garcia, also from Deporama Triatlón Soriano.
The men's race was decided by mere seconds. Jarno Pousada, from the Cidade de Lugo Fluvial, achieved victory with a time of 54:28, followed very closely by Andrew Hilary, from the Albacete Res Triathlon, with 54:32, and Alejandro Pla, from the Imps from Rivas, third with 54:36. Roc Bellostas, from Katoa Barcelona, finished in fourth position, while Alfonso Izquierdo, from Deporama Triatlón Soriano, closed the top five.
In addition to the high level of competition in the elite races, the event stood out for its wide participation, exceeding 250 athletes across all categories, and for serving as a decisive event for obtaining places in the 2026 Spanish Duathlon Championship.
