Lucy Charles and Sam Long win the 70.3 IRONMAN 2025 Eagleman

Britain's Lucy Charles-Barclay led the women's race almost from start to finish. Despite a rare challenge from Margarita Ryan, it was LCB who finished first in T1.
In the cycling segment, she extended her lead, reaching T2 with almost three minutes over her pursuers. American Lisa Becharas stood out with a time of 2:06:59, putting her in contention. However, the challenge was to run far enough to close the gap on Charles.
Chelsea SodaroThe 2022 world champion did her best and reduced the gap to 1:22 by the halfway point of the run, but Lucy didn't give up. She held the pace, managed the final kilometers, and sealed her victory with authority.

Sam Long comes from behind to win with the best partial on foot
American Sam Long was back at it again with a textbook comeback.
He emerged from the water in 21st place, 4:32 behind, but he didn't despair. In the cycling segment, he made a strong comeback to place second after a great split of 1:55:14, beaten only by Sweden's Robert Kallin (1:54:37).
At the transition, Long shaved off 30 seconds and started the half marathon neck and neck with Trevor Foley. The two caught Kallin at the 6-kilometer mark, and that's when the real duel began. Finally, Long shifted up a gear and, with a split of 1:10:49, his best of the day, crossed the finish line with a 27-second lead.
