MTRI Castellón closes the 2025 circuit with top brands and record participation

MTRI Castellón put an end to the circuit Mediterranean 2025 Triathlon with two days full of excitement, heat and sportsmanship.

La last stop of the calendar once again demonstrated why this circuit is a favorite among Spanish triathletes, from beginners to the most experienced.

With three distances available —supersprint, sprint and olympic—, the event stood out for the spectacular times achieved in both the men's and women's categories, thus closing out an edition to remember.

Local triumphs on the opening day

Saturday was marked by the sprint distance and the traditional family duathlon. In the women's competition, Alejandra del Val (CEA Bétera) dominated from start to finish with a time of 01:05:51, more than 3 minutes ahead of her pursuer. In the men's category, Carlos Sales (Tripuçol) won with 00:58:33 after breaking away in the foot race.

They completed the podiums Paula Pallarés y Cristina Ballester in girls, and Rubén Salvo y ander noain The atmosphere was rounded off with the participation of 40 young triathletes in the family duathlon, which made it clear that the MTRI spirit is also passed down between generations.

Explosiveness in the supersprint and dominance in the olímpico

On Sunday it was the turn of the supersprint and Olympic distances. In the shorter one, Raquel Ballester (A7 Triathlon LAW) and Jesus Bergua (CT Resistentia T3) once again demonstrated their solidity on the circuit, taking not only the victory in Castellón, but also the final trophy of the MTRI 2025 ranking.

In the Olympic category, the dominance was clear: Tenllado Elderberry (CT Albacete) literally flew on the bike at almost 39 km/h and crossed the finish line in 01:56:35, followed very closely by Juanri Catalá y Nacho Tomas, who had a great duel for second and third place.

Among the girls, Ainhoa ​​Álvarez (Galdakaoko Mozoilo) swept the field with a time of 02:16:42, beating the field by more than 10 minutes Ana Dexeus and Indre Barkute, who was the best in cycling.

Couples outings: the essence of the Mediterranean Triathlon

One of the hallmarks of the MTRI is the couples' outings, which once again filled the finish line with memorable images. Family, friends, and couples enjoyed competing together, consolidating this sport as a favorite among those seeking to share their passion for triathlon.

Final ranking and record participation

The awards ceremony in Castellón also served to officially close the circuit's 2025 ranking.

El CT Resistant T3 was the club with the most participation, with nearly 100 triathletes in the different venues, followed by SD Roadrunner and the CEA Bétera.

2025 has been a record-breaking year for Mediterránea Triatlón, consolidating its position as the benchmark circuit for those new to or looking to improve their competitiveness in the national triathlon scene.
