Cassandre Beaugrand and Maxime Hueber win the 2025 Supertri E Worlds

Yesterday, Saturday, April 5, the Supertri E World Triathlon Championship 2025 at the London Aquatics Centre, a very dynamic and exciting event with an explosive format: three short supersprint triathlons without a break (200m swimming, 4km virtual cycling and 1km treadmill running).

In this edition, the main role was played by France who got a double thanks to Cassandre Beaugrand in the female category and  Maxime Hueber-Moosbrugger in the masculine.

Cassandre Beaugrand gave no option

The women's event was a monologue of Cassandre Beaugrand, who led from the first stroke to the last step on the tape. The Frenchwoman once again tasted gold in London, where she had already won in 2022, and demonstrated why she is one of the greatest figures in world triathlon.

The British Beth PotterThe defending champion, fought with everything she had, but this time she couldn't close the gap. Despite staying close in the early segments, Beaugrand's lead gradually grew to over 30 seconds at the finish line.

"It was incredibly tough; I'd forgotten how demanding this format is. Still, I'm happy with the result," Beaugrand said.

Potter, true to her style, did not give up and finished second, adding another podium to her impeccable record in the Supertri. The German Julia Broecker She was third, more than a minute behind.

Hueber-Moosbrugger makes a comeback for the ages

In the men's category, the French Maxime Hueber, third in 2024, took the victory in a race that had all the ingredients: pace, tension and a heart-stopping final comeback.

The American Chase mcqueenDefending champion Maxime dominated much of the race and reached the final kilometer with a 14-second lead. But Maxime, confident in his legs, gritted his teeth and flew on the treadmill, running at 2:50 min/km until he caught up with him just a few meters from the finish line.

"I knew I had good legs for the last kilometer. I gave it my all there and it worked out well for me," the Frenchman explained after crossing the finish line.

McQueen, who had led from the first swimming segment, finished second after a tremendous effort. “I gave it my all, but Maxime was better. Still, I'm happy with second place,” he acknowledged.

The podium was completed by the Pole Maciej Bruzdziak, after a great comeback on foot. Behind him, prominent names such as Dorian Coninx (fourth) and Jonny Brownlee, who finished sixth in his return to the Supertri format.
