Jon Breivold and Alanis Siffert win the 2025 Alpe d'Huez Triathlon

This Wednesday a new edition of the Alpe d'Huez Triathlon, one of the most legendary and toughest races on the international middle-distance circuit.
The setting of the French Alps, with over 3.200 meters of elevation gain and the legendary final climb to Alpe d'Huez, once again put triathletes from around the world to the test.
Jon Breivold, unbeatable in the mountains
The Norwegian Jon Breivold, known for his victories in extreme events such as the Norseman, once again demonstrated his dominance at altitude with an impeccable performance.
Although he emerged from the water somewhat disadvantaged after the swim in Lake Verney, he took the lead during the cycling segment thanks to a devastating split time of 3:45:18, the fastest of the day.
Upon arrival at T2, he was already in the lead. In the run, despite the heat and altitude, he ran in 1h11:38 and set a new total record of the test with 5:30:05.

The French Louis RichardAfter a modest swim, he staged a great comeback with one of the best partial times in the running race, which allowed him to reach second place (5:34:44).
The Austrian Thomas Steger, who had remained second for much of the cycling, could not resist Richard's push and finished third (5:35:19).

As for national representation, the best Spaniard was Pello Osoro, who crossed the finish line in 16th position (5:52:23), standing out for his comeback on foot after a delayed swim. Sergio López, Miguel Ledesma, Gonzalo Fuentes y Aitor Arotzena finished between 32nd and 35th place.
Alanis Siffert, unstoppable even in the Alps
The women's event had a Swiss flavour from the start. alani siffert, who comes from a great 2025 with a podium in Challenge Roth and victories in Zarautz and Taiwan, he led from the start.
She emerged first from the water, widened her lead in the cycling segment and maintained her pace in the running segment (1h22:52) to win convincingly in 6:18:37.

The second place went to Nina Derron, also Swiss, who showed solid performance in all three segments. The podium was completed by Jeanne Collonge, a veteran in this race and a regular in the front positions in this alpine event.
For its part, Bárbara Riveros She finished fourth. Despite her excellent run, she was unable to make up for lost time in the previous sections.
