Regional triathlon championships in Sagunto: Mariola Sebastián and Paco Martí are crowned champions.

Almardà Beach in Sagunto became the epicenter of the regional triathlon yesterday with the Regional Olympic-distance Triathlon Championship (1.500m swimming, 40km cycling, and 10km running).

With nearly 500 triathletes on the starting line, the event marked its first venue after eight editions and did so with a spectacular atmosphere, coinciding with the final round of the Caixa Popular Club League.

Development of the men's competition

The men opened the day with an intense swimming segment. The first to leave the water was Yhousman David Perdomo (CDT T3 Resistant).

In the cycling section, the leading group of more than ten triathletes took center stage, with David Blasco in the lead and in which they also rolled Paco Marti, Perdomo y Guillem Segura.

Everything was decided in the foot race, where Paco Marti (Deporama Triathlon Soriano) set the pace to become regional champion. He was joined on the podium by Perdomo (silver) and Segura (bronze).

Women's competition with a final comeback

In the female category, Claudia Breso (University of Alicante) led both swimming and cycling, reaching T2 with more than a minute's advantage.

Behind her, Marina Camps y Claudia Roger were trying to close the gap. However, in the foot race, the solidity of Mariola Sebastian (Tripuçol), which climbed the ranks until it reached first place and was crowned regional champion. Camps He took the money and Chloe Nicholas (CD Resistentia T3) completed the podium with bronze.
