Neither the overcast sky nor the wet asphalt stopped the more than 750 triathletes who gathered this Sunday in the Cantabrian capital.
El Santander City Triathlon 2025, with Half and Olympic modalities without drafting, once again hung up the complete sign and consolidated its weight in the National Ranking of Medium and Long Distance FETRI.
The route, starting at the Zaera Dune and passing by the Festival Palace, turned the city into the epicenter of the national triathlon, with a thriving atmosphere among the public and volunteers.
Rodríguez Rilo, owner of the men's half
From swimming, Alejandro Rodríguez Rilo made it clear that he was going all out. With a time of 30:40, he opened a gap of more than four minutes over Alfonso Izquierdo y Miguel Ledesma, and almost nine over Pello OsoroAlthough Osoro posted the best cycling split of the day (1:51:58), Rilo's lead was enough to reach T2 with a two-minute cushion.
Already in the running race, the Vitorian narrowed the gap, but the Galician kept his cool to win with a time of 3:47:07. Osoro finished second at 1:18, while Jaime Left completed the podium after a duel with Ropero and Ledesma.
Chloé Serra shines among women
In the women's category, the Catalan Chloe Serra he took the win with a time of 4:28:35.
Despite coming out of the water a little late compared to Ana Rojo, the champion knew how to build her advantage in the 90 km bike ride and control the half marathon. Ariadna Arisó was second at 2:33, while Jessica Lopez completed the podium with a time twenty minutes slower.
Méntrida and Muñoz win the Olympic title without drafting.
In the Olympic distance, the Madrid native Diego Mentrida gave no choice. He stopped the clock at 1:50:57, ahead of Alejandro Pla (1: 53: 12) and Javier Alvarez (1: 56: 24).
Among women, the great protagonist was Marina Muñoz, winner in 2:05:44 after a cycling and running recital.
The Soria native, currently number one in the national duathlon rankings, adds another triumph to a dream 2025, with titles in the Desafío Castilla y León and silver in the world cross-country triathlon.
They followed Eneritz Urrutia (2: 15: 50) and Aitzber Urkola (2:19:42), in a very outstanding female participation.
