Guillem Montiel and Alanis Siffert win in Zarautz under the rain

On June 14th a new edition of the TradeINN Zarauzko Triatloia, scoring test for the National Ranking of Medium and Long Distance Triathlon.
The day, marked by changeable weather, forced the triathletes to face a wet, sloppy course, with light rain from the start at Malkorbe Beach to the finish in Zarautz. A demanding circuit where they stood out. Guillem Montiel y alani siffert, which were imposed with authority.

In the cycling segment, Siffert confirmed her status as the favorite. Not only did she maintain her lead, but she also extended her advantage with solid, technical pedaling on the course's tricky climbs and descents, reaching T2 with more than three minutes over Morier.
Despite the Frenchwoman's efforts in the run, Siffert managed to manage her advantage to achieve a clear victory with a time of 4:03:29. Morier was second (+2:39) and Marta Łagownik secured the third place on the podium without opposition.
Montiel leads from start to finish with confidence and courage.
In the men's elite, the Catalan Guillem Montiel He once again demonstrated his great form. This year, the European MD Triathlon Champion, Montiel emerged from the water at the head of a very compact group, along with Chente Hernández, Guillem Rojas, James Teagle y Xandre Álvarez, all in less than 30 seconds.
The light rain and wet ground marked a demanding cycling segment, where Montiel took the reins of the race after the Wall of San Blas, leaving his rivals behind with a great performance.
He arrived at T2 with a 3-minute lead over the Austrian. Léon Pauger, followed by Romaric Forques, Matteo Bringer and the own Hernández. From behind, they fought Julen Lopetegi, Mikel Ugarte, Jonathan Wayafee y Luismi Velásquez.
Already in the running race, Montiel resisted the attacks. Pauger reduced the time in the first kilometers, but it was the Canary Islander Chente Hernández who set the best partial time on foot to snatch second place from the Austrian in the final meters.
Montiel crossed the finish line in 3:43:13, securing another victory in his perfect season. Hernández finished second (+39") and Pauger third (+48"). Mikel Ugarte He was fourth (+2:42”) after a nice duel with Wayafee (+2:47”).
