La Tongyeong World Cup 2025In South Korea, the World Cup season will come to a close, along with the event in Florianópolis.
Spain travels with 13 representatives (7 men and 6 women), all with their sights set on improving their results compared to Miyazaki.
The Spanish in the men's category
The men's race is extremely competitive, to the point that the best Spanish runner will be... 22 by Esteban Basanta, which reflects the depth of the start list.
They will be in Tongyeong the top eight ranked by Miyazaki, in addition to Italian Alessio Crociani, who arrives eager for revenge after Marbella, and the Australian Brandon Copeland.
Spain will compete with a young, brave team that has a good feeling after Miyazaki:
- Esteban Basanta Fouz
- Eloy Canales Notary
- Kevin Tarek Viñuela González
- Vicente Hernández
- Andres Prieto Villar
- Eduardo Blanco Molla
- Hector Tolsa Garcia
The most prominent ones in Japan were Andres Prieto y Eloy Canaleswho finished in the Top 10 after a very close sprint. They're regaining their form and have a real chance of fighting for the top spots if the race breaks up after the bike leg. Also returning Kevin Tarek Viñuela, Vicente Hernández, Tolsa y Edu Blanco, all of them with room for improvement compared to the last test.
A WTS-level men's start list
The international ranking once again carries weight WTCS, with names like:

- Euan De Nigro
- Vetle Thorn
- Maxime Hueber-Moosbrugger (FRA)
- Nathan Grayel (FRA)
- Shachar Sagiv (ISR)

Women's category: continuity and ambition
Just like the men's race, the women's event will also feature many of Miyazaki's top 10 athletes. Spain is sending six triathletes, and the top-ranked athlete will be... 23 by María Casals.
The women's team consists of:
- Cecilia Santamaría Surroca
- Maria Casals Mojica
- Noelia Juan
- Marina Munoz Hernando
- Alejandra Seguí Soria
- Maria Teresa Jimenez-Orta Guerrero
The Spanish reference point is once again Cecilia Santamaría, who signed a magnificent TOP-5 in Miyazakidemonstrating a very solid level of running. Casals also arrives with confidence after his 10th place finish in Japan.
International favorites in the women's event
Among the most dangerous names are:
- Tilly Anema (GBR)
- Diana Isakova (RUS)
- Valentina Riasova (RUS)
- Angelica Prestia (ITA), Under-23 World Medalist
- Read Coninx (FRA), the only notable new addition to the start list
