IRONMAN 70.3 St. George 2025 Preview: Long, Ditlev, and Sanders duel

This weekend the HOMBRE DE HIERRO 70.3 St. George, sixth date of the calendar Pro Series 2025, and it does so for the last time in its iconic classic version.

The Utah desert will host a duel where we will be able to see Sam long, Lionel Sanders y Magnus ditlev in what could be quite a racing spectacle.

On the female side, it is worth highlighting the return of Chelsea Sodaro After her absence in Texas, the presence of the reigning champion Paula Findlay and a wide range of favorites with Jackie Hering, Danielle lewis y Lotte Wilms.

Duel of giants: Long vs Sanders vs Ditlev

Sam long arrives as two-time defending champion at St. George (2023 and 2024) and has won seven races since December 2022.

Meanwhile Lionel Sanders, in top form after his victory in Oceanside, is looking for revenge after having lost to Long on eight previous occasions.

But we will also have to take into account the Danish Magnus ditlev, winner of the 2025 IRONMAN South Africa and who has the second best time in the full distance (7h23 in Roth).

Other notable names in the race will be cam wurf (AUS), former World Tour cyclist, Jake Birtwhistle (AUS), 2nd in 70.3 Geelong, Ben hamilton (NZL), 2nd in St. George 2024 or Matt Hanson (USA), winner in Chattanooga among others.

Findlay, Sodaro and Wilms, duel of queens

In the female category, the Canadian Paula Findlay She's back after winning in Oceanside, and is looking to defend her title in St. George. She has six middle-distance wins since 2022 and is contracted for the T100 Triathlon World Tour 2025.

The 2022 world champion, Chelsea Sodaro, starts the season here after recovering from a virus. They also repeat podium finishes Jackie Hering (2nd in Oceanside) and Danielle lewis (3th).

IRONMAN Pro Series at stake: points, prestige, and $200.000

The test awards 2.500 points to the winners and is key in the fight for the throne of the IRONMAN Pro Series, which rewards the best five results of the year.

The final champion will take $200.000, while the second and third will receive $130.000 and $85.000 respectively.
