This Saturday May 17, the island of Lanzarote will host the 33rd edition of the Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote, one of the toughest and most emblematic long distance tests.

Lucy Charles returns to the island where it all began

Charles, who in 2023 achieved his long-awaited title of world champion in Kona, will be looking to taste victory again in this edition. Among her main rivals is the Danish Maja Stage, the French Jeanne Collonge and the Belgian Alexandra Tondeur, who will try to fight for the three available spots for the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona.
Four Spaniards ready for anything

A route that will test the bravest
Swimming will once again take place in the waters of Puerto del CarmenThe cycling event will traverse the island's stunning volcanic landscapes, while the running event will take place between Puerto del Carmen and Arrecife.
This year, improvements have been made to the Avenida de Las Playas section to optimize the athlete experience. In addition, the public will be able to experience the event much more closely, especially in the area of Playa Grande, where multiple animation points will be concentrated.
The race director, Fabio Cabrera, stressed that the goal was to make IRONMAN Lanzarote not only a sporting challenge, but also a celebration for all attendees.
According to the Island Council, participant satisfaction has increased significantly, reaching above the international average. This demonstrates that IRONMAN Lanzarote is much more than a race: it's a unique experience.
