MTRI Castellón closes the 2025 circuit with record participation

Castellón hosts 1.364 triathletes for a weekend celebrating the passion for popular triathlon.

This weekend, Grao de Castellón becomes the epicenter of the national triathlon with the celebration of MTRI Castellón 2025, last stop of the circuit Mediterranean Triathlon.

With 1.364 participants confirmed, the test reaches an absolute record of participation, consolidating itself as one of the most important events of popular triathlon in the Valencian Community.

More than half of the participants are non-federated

The data speaks for itself: 753 non-federated triathletes compared to 573 federated participants, reflecting the accessible and open nature of this competition. Added to this is a very positive figure: 27,85% of participation is female, and almost 44% come from outside the Valencian Community, with international representation from up to 14 different countries.

A full weekend of triathlon, family and prizes

Starting this afternoon, with the collection of bib numbers and the opening of the expo at the Javier Marquina Football Field, Castellón is in the mood for triathlon. Saturday is reserved for the sprint distance and family duathlon, a modality that is new to the circuit this year.

Sunday will be the turn of the Olympic and the supersprint, closing with the MTRI 2025 ranking awards ceremonyIn total, 665 triathletes will compete on Saturday and 699 on Sunday.

Competition area: beach, grass and local flavor

The event takes place entirely in the surroundings of the Grao de Castellón, with the Costa de Azahar as a backdrop. The competition area is spread over three artificial turf fields at the Javier Marquina sports complex: one for the exhibition, race numbers, and post-goal; another for the changing room; and a third for the transition box and the finish line.

In addition, the organization has taken care of every detail: popular paella after each day, fresh fruit from Torres, Nutrisport isotonic and Nude bars in the triathlete's bag. Winners will receive a special product bag. nut & me courtesy of calconut.
